The space
A white kitchen that read as flat — white cabinets, white counter, white wall.
The decision
Grey subway with a slightly darker grout for the only contrast in the room, run full height behind the hood so that wall becomes the focal point.
The detail
The hood wall is laid out from the centre of the cooktop outward, so the tile is symmetrical about the hood and the cuts land at the cabinets on both sides.
